How to Care for Diamonds

Diamonds are the hardest substance on earth but they can still be damaged. Proper diamond care is important for the beauty and longevity of your diamond. Your diamond can appear dull due to everyday wear, such as hair spray and makeup.

To clean your diamond, use a quality jewelry cleaning solution. You can also use warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap. You then can use a new soft toothbrush (only used for cleaning jewelry) to get to the hard to reach places.

Don’t use household cleaners such as bleach and chlorine as they can damage the diamond mounting or the ring itself. These types of chemicals may even cause discoloration and pitting.

Also be sure to bring your ring into Robbins Brothers once a year to be cleaned and inspected in order to maintain your ring’s warrany. We provide this cleaning and inspection free of charge each year.

A wonderful thing about diamonds is that they never ever lose their beauty and brilliance once they're cut. You simply have to clean that diamond and you get that look that you had the day you fell in love with it.
