MERCHANDISE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
About this position
The Merchandise Operations position is responsible for helping to ensure that merchandise is processed and delivered to the stores in the most effective and efficient manner possible so that the interaction between the guest, the store and the brand is successful. This individual ensures that the stores’ needs are met by effectively working with our suppliers and stores to process merchandise, whether it be new goods, special orders, repairs or any other types of product in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. This is congruent with our department mission of “The right ring at the right price in the right store at the right time.”
Qualifications:
Jewelry experience preferred but not required
Retail experience a plus
High degree of proficiency in MS Suite
Strong prioritizing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to build and maintain relationships
Ability to work in partnership with store personnel
Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast paced and
deadline driven environment
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
Responsibilities:
Accurately processes incoming diamonds within established guidelines
Ensures proper invoicing by vendors
Follows up with certification labs to ensure timely delivery of outstanding certs to maintain the diamond processing schedule
Accurately processes new, repair and special-order jewelry within established guidelines
Performs tag quality control to ensure information is accurate
Ensures proper invoicing by vendors
Immediately reports incorrect tag information to management

Ensures that trade-ins and break-ups are processed each week
Accurately processes incoming solitaires within established guidelines
Ensures that job bag centers are processed and applied on a weekly basis
Effectively processes special solitaires within established parameters
Actively promotes and maintains RBJ’s security and inventory control procedures to minimize losses and keep the inventory accuracy at the highest possible levels

Participates in month end corporate inventory and ensures data and product accuracy
Plans for and participates in company sponsored meetings and training
Plans daily/weekly workflow to accomplish daily and monthly responsibility tasks in the most efficient manner
Anticipates backlog during times of heavy receipts and works with management to utilize overtime as necessary to accomplish responsibilities within established timelines
