Popping The Big Question in Cyberspace

By Lou Hirsh, The Press-Enterprise

Couples who want total strangers to know they've just gotten engaged no longer have to rely on sports stadium JumboTron screens. Web sites like YouTube have become THE place for sharing those kinds of moments, without having to shell out for box seats.>The Azusa-based jewelry store chain Robbins Brothers, which has Inland locations in Riverside and Montclair, is inviting people to share their marriage proposal videos for an upcoming television commercial.

As part of a newly launched campaign, "Welcome to the rest of your life," the company is asking all engaged or married couples to share their "Will you marry me?" clips for a chance to star in the TV spot.

A company statement said Robbins' key niche market is newly engaged and soon-to-be-engaged couples, and its campaign -- with "Lovely Day" as its theme song -- highlights the emotions associated with the exact moment when a loved one pops the question.
